Board certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist. I was a registered nurse for a 5 years, started a PhD in neurosciences taking a terminal MS when accepted to medical school. My medical degree earned from Wayne State, Detroit, MI. My post-graduate training included neurology, anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota – Minneapolis, MN and a fellowship in pain medicine at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Rochester, MN.

• 1997-1999 Senior Associate Consultant in the Department of Anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic – Pain Medicine Section and directed fellowship education
• 1999-2003 Director of Pain Medicine and Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN
• 1998-2003 Co-director of Translational Research in the Center for Pain Research at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, Minneapolis, MN
• 2003-2006 Comprehensive Pain Medicine Program at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.
• 2006-2009 Presbyterian Pain Medicine Institute at Novant Health. A multidiscipline approach to the practice of pain medicine was the hallmark of this program.
• 2009-2013 Director of Pain Medicine program at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, NC
• 2013-2020 Associate Professor and Director – Duke Innovative Pain Therapies and Director of Clinical Trials in Pain Medicine
