Dr. Khawaja S. Nasir received his Bachelors in Oral Surgery (BDS) from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore Medical and Dental College, Pakistan. He completed a one-year residency program in General Practice Residency from the same institute. In 2013, he completed a combined advanced education residency in Temporomandibular Disorders and received a Masters degree in Oral Sciences from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He was later awarded a two-year fellowship in teaching and research in the Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences, School of Dental Medicine, State University of New York at Buffalo. In 2017, he completed a two-year, hospital-based Orofacial Pain residency program from Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. He is currently working as an Orofacial Pain consultant at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centers, Pakistan. His research and clinical interest include cancer and chronic pain management, primary headache disorders, temporomandibular disorders, neuropathic pain disorders, and management of cancer therapy-related side effects.

The cancers of the head and neck region are inherently aggressive in their biological behavior. They often result in significant disease-related destruction of the regional tissue. Due to this, pain is a common and most unfavorable symptom of such disorder. This lecture will review the epidemiology, clinical features, diagnosis, and management of head and neck cancer-associated pain.
