CBCT is a powerful diagnostic tool that can yield valuable insight into our patients’ orofacial complexes and conditions. A thorough knowledge of oral and maxillofacial anatomy and pathology is necessary to complete the evaluation of CBCT volumes, but also of importance is the understanding of how these structures interact with one another in health and when diseased. This presentation covers a brief review of the anatomical structures and the changes that ensue when one or more portions of the craniofacial complex is abnormal. The effect of the TMJ on craniofacial growth and upper respiratory tract development will be covered.
