AAOP Student Award Criteria

The American Academy of Orofacial Pain Outstanding Senior Award is presented to an outstanding student who has demonstrated the greatest commitment and interest to temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and orofacial pain. The Academy is interested in honoring students with special interests and skills in our field and encouraging students to further their education in TMD and Orofacial Pain. If a particular student is thought to be deserving of such a commendation, it is customary that you provide a letter indicating that you recommend that student for consideration of the AAOP award. The award consists of a certificate suitable for framing.

To ensure that the award is received in a timely matter please allow at least 21 days for production from the date that your nominee has been submitted to AAOP. The certificate will be sent via email, please include a valid email address.

New for 2026, submit the Student Award Form before April 10, 2026 and the award winner will be included on our banner of student award winners at the 50th Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting.
