AAOP Mission & Orofacial Pain Specialty
The American Academy of Orofacial Pain, an organization of dentists and other health professionals, is dedicated to alleviating pain and suffering through the promotion of excellence in education, research, and patient care in the specialty of orofacial pain and associated disorders.
Orofacial Pain (OFP) is the specialty of dentistry that encompasses the diagnosis, management and treatment of pain disorders of the jaw, mouth, face and associated regions. The specialty of Orofacial Pain is dedicated to the evidenced-based understanding of the underlying pathophysiology, etiology, prevention, and treatment of these disorders and the improvement of access to interdisciplinary patient care.
Who Should Attend?
All interested dentists, physicians, physical therapists, researchers, mental health care professionals and other practitioners who diagnose, manage, and treat orofacial pain disorders.
